MONROE, La. – On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Alpha Zeta Nu Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, inducted four new members, including Sarah Charrier, Madison Hebert, Azlyn Isaac, and Elizabeth Poydras.

Shonna Moss, the Director of the Louisiana Political Museum & Hall of Fame, gave the keynote address. She discussed Louisiana’s political history and the value of public service. She gave the inductees unique gifts from the museum, including an autobiography discovered in the upstairs attic of the former home of former governor Huey P. Long.

Selection into Pi Sigma Alpha is based upon three criteria: an overall GPA that places the student within the top one-third of their graduating class, a GPA of 3.5 or better in Political Science courses, and the completion of more than twelve hours of political science courses. Members receive a certificate of induction.

Pi Sigma Alpha is a national political science honor society founded in 1920 at the University of Texas for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics. Pi Sigma Alpha is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). It remains the only recognized college honor society in political science and is among the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies. Since the founding of the Alpha Zeta Nu Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha at ULM in 2010, 91 members have been inducted.
