Spring 2026 Tryouts
ULM Cheerleading Tryouts for 2026 are designed for athletes with strong tumbling and stunt skills. A $50 tryout fee is required.
Tumbling Requirements
- Standing Tumbling:

- Standing BHS series
-
- Toe touch BHS
-
- Highly Encouraged: Standing Tuck (85% of team)
- Running Tumbling:
-
- Any variation of running tuck
-
- RO tuck
-
- RO BHS tuck
-
- RO BHS series tuck
-
- Highly Encouraged: Level 4 specialty passes, layouts, fulls
Stunt Requirements
- Building:
-
- One elite spinning skill
-
- One elite flipping skill
-
- One elite switching skill
- Dismounts:
-
- Collegiate dismount or basket
*Top girls must demonstrate a body position
Tryout Dates
- Friday, May 1st at 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

- Review "Fight Song" choreography (should be learned at the clinics & will also be posted to ULM Cheer Instagram & YouTube)

- Participants learn a cheer & 4-8 counts of a band dance

- Tumbling Auditions & 1st Cut
- Saturday, May 2nd at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Additional Tryout Requirements:
- Copy of front and back of Health Insurance Card
- Copy of Driver's License/State Issued ID
- Copy of ULM Acceptance Letter
- Copy of transcript providing evidence that your cumulative GPA is 2.5 or higher
- One letter of recommendation from a former cheer coach/trainer
- Current headshot photo (no selfies and photo will not be returned)
- Completed tryout packet
How to Participate?
- All applicants should fill out the tryout packet and bring it along with the required items listed above to the tryouts.
