Avoiding Mosquitoes

Although this Louisiana summer is nearly over, the temperature, moisture, and pests seem to be sticking around. It is very clear that Louisiana is well known for having a high concentration of mosquitoes, but this summer seems to be particularly bad. We have had a very wet summer, which lends to a perfect breeding ground for these blood sucking pests. Due to all this buzz, we have stepped up our mosquito abatement efforts on campus. You might see the fogging trucks making their rounds more regularly. We are trying to keep campus as pest free as possible given we are located on a body of water.

The goal of this page is to provide you with knowledge and resources to prevent interaction with mosquitoes. Below you will find links to pages and resources provided by the Center for Disease Control, Mayo Clinic, and the American Mosquito Control Association.
