"It is a pleasure for me to be working with our faculty/staff as well as area employers in locating and developing employment for our students. Assistant Director of Career Connections
Kyle’s main objective as Coordinator of Academic Internships is to ensure that the students of ULM have access to rewarding internships in their field of study. He works with local, regional and national employers in an effort to secure quality internships that will allow students the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom into a real world work environment. The end result for the internship program is to allow for a seamless transition for the student from the classroom setting into today’s working world.
Beyond just Academic Internships, Kyle also assists students with their professional resumes. He works with students in a variety of situations from those who have a completed resume and just need someone to take that last glance to offer final critiques to students who are just starting the resume process and need help building one from the ground up. Kyle is always willing to work with any student to ensure that their resume helps them put their best foot forward in getting out and starting a successful career.
Kyle received his bachelor’s degree in Speech/Communication from Louisiana Tech in 2008. During his time at LA Tech, Kyle was an active participant in the Peer Leadership Council, the debate team and Temple Baptist Church’s college ministry. Kyle returned to Tech and completed his master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in the summer of 2010. His degree in I/O psychology gives him insight into the business culture of today and enables him to discuss this information with the students of ULM.
“Since arriving at ULM I have been received with open arms as a member of the Warhawk family. I am humbled and very thankful to be in an environment where the student matters most and will do everything in my power to ensure that the focus continues to remain there. I am fortunate to call Career Connections my home here on campus and I could not have asked to be in better company or to have been provided better leadership than what our department has.”
