MONROE, La. — The University of Louisiana Monroe Foundation recognized five community leaders with the presentation of the ‘Warhawk Ambassador Award’ during an evening of honor last night on ULM’s campus.

The Warhawk Ambassador Award was presented to George Campbell (Chairman, North Louisiana, Regions Bank), Tim Green (Partner at Allen, Green and Williamson, LLP accounting firm), Malcolm Maddox (Senior VP Commercial Lending Manager for IberiaBank), Mayor Jamie Mayo (Mayor of Monroe), and James Moore, Jr. (business executive, hotel owner and developer).

To be considered for this award, an individual must have contributed years of service in active roles that may include:

  • Advocacy
  • Bringing alumni into active roles
  • Service on Boards, Committees, Teams
  • Monetary and Gift-in-Kind donations
  • Support to Faculty, Staff and Administration
  • Assisting students through internships, job fairs, or other interactions

According to Susan Chappel, Executive Director of the ULM Foundation and Alumni Relations, “These are people of such integrity, stature and demonstrated ability that the faculty, staff, students, and alumni take pride in and are inspired by their recognition. They are individuals whose interests and loyalty are evident in their deeds and actions, reflecting and recognizing the importance of ULM in our local and global community, and who demonstrate pride in the University."

The evening included a word of appreciation from ULM’s president, Dr. Nick J. Bruno, who also recognized the university's other major gifts organizations, including The Kitty DeGree Bell Tower Society, The George T. Walker Heritage Society, and the ULM Associates.

Mayor Jamie Mayo said, "Like so many others, I chose a life of public service to make a difference in the city that I'm so proud to represent. I am honored and humbled to be recognized by the ULM Foundation. I am thankful to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Bruno and the university faculty, staff, students and other alumni to help further the positive efforts of a great school that is dear to my heart. I am truly appreciative to receive this prestigious award."

“The five recipients of the Warhawk Ambassador Award have demonstrated their ongoing support of this university and so we wanted to dedicate an evening to them to let them know that we value their community leadership and their patronage,” said Dr. Bruno.
