College of Health Science (COHS) Graduate Committee
Purpose and Responsibilities
PURPOSE: To review COHS graduate student appeals. To serve as a standing committee for the
Dean of the College of Health Science for college-wide issues as needed.
CHAIR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare agendas & minutes
- Moderate the meetings
- Review all applications and appeals for technical accuracy and work with the submitter
to make necessary corrections.
- Send email alerts to the College regarding submission deadlines and approval process
- In consultation with the dean and committee members, is responsible for final approval
of applications and appeals that will be presented to Graduate Council.
- Orient new Chair to CHS Graduate Committee duties and committee responsibilities
- Update the resources page on the website as needed
COMMITTEE MEMBER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend all meetings as scheduled
- Discuss and evaluate applications and appeals for completeness of information
- Communicate concerns and follow-up action as needed
- Provide specific feedback on each applications and appeals for revisions, corrections
and/or additions.
- Thoroughly review all materials provided prior to meeting and be prepared to vote
TERM OF SERVICE: One year
REPORTS TO: Dean - College of Health Sciences
MEETINGS: As needed
