Canvas: Faculty FAQs 

Q: Who should I contact for support?

A: For the fastest assistance, submit support requests through the Office of Instructional Technology at canvas@ulm.edu or call (318) 342-5050 during normal business hours. Requests are triaged by our team and escalated internally as needed.

Q: How do I get help with Canvas, and/or other instructional technologies?

A: You can visit our office in the University Library, Room 211,contact Instructional Technology at (318) 342-5050 or canvas@ulm.edu during normal business hours.

After normal business hours, you can chat live 24/7 with Canvas Support by selecting the Help link on the bottom-left inside of Canvas.

Q:Who responds to my request?

A: Our office uses a team-based support model. A trained team member may respond to your request, and we escalate internally as needed to ensure you receive accurate support.

Q:How long does it take to resolve an issue?

A: Most requests receive an initial response within one business day. Resolution time depends on the complexity of the issue (for example, accessibility remediation or course-wide issues may require additional review). If you have a time-sensitive deadline, please include it in your request.

Q: Should I email someone directly?

A: To ensure your request is tracked and routed quickly, please email canvas@ulm.edu or call (318) 342-5050. Requests submitted through the office channels are triaged by our team and escalated as needed.

Q:How do I request a cross-listed course in Canvas?

A: Meta-course requests must be submitted by the use of our webform. Users must be signed into their ULM accounts to access and submit the form : Metacourse Request Form

Q: What is Panorama and where do I find it?

Panorama is an accessibility tool integrated into Canvas that helps identify accessibility issues and provides alternative formats for course content. In Canvas, you can typically access Panorama from the course navigation menu or the Accessibility/Report links provided in your course. If you do not see it in your course, contact canvas@ulm.edu. Q: Can I schedule to meet with someone in the office.

Yes, contact our office by phone or email to meet with a team member for help. If you need critical support, schedule to meet with the Manger of Instructional Technology or an Instructional Technology Specialist by using their meeting links below:
