Student FAQ – Canvas Help

 

Q: I can’t see my course in Canvas. Why?

A:To view your course in Canvas, you must be officially enrolled in the course, and your instructor must have published the course. If you are enrolled and the course is not visible, contact your instructor to confirm the course has been published.

Q: When will my courses be available?

A:Canvas courses are typically not available until the first day of class. Availability is controlled by the instructor, so courses may appear at different times.

Q: What should I do if classes have started and I am missing a course on my Canvas dashboard?

A:First, confirm that you are officially enrolled in the course. If you register on the first day of class or after that date, it may take one business day before access is available as the systems update the information periodically, not instantaneously. If you are enrolled and the course does not appear, contact your instructor to confirm the course has been published. If the issue continues, contact Instructional Technology for assistance.

Q: How do I get access to Respondus LockDown Browser?

A: You can install Respondus LockDown Browser by selecting the Help link on the bottom-left inside of Canvas, or by visiting Respondus Assessment Tools for Learning Systems.

Q: How do I get help with Canvas?

A:You can visit our office in the University Library, Room 211, or contact Instructional Technology during normal business hours.
