The mission of the Music Program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is to educate students in music and music education; to offer liberal arts performance and classroom opportunities to all students, and to develop and provide musical events, performances, workshops and activities for all people within the region. The Music Program is housed in the recently-renovated and state-of-the-art Biedenharn Hall. This building houses ample classroom, studio, and practice facilities in addition to the new 284-seat Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, which boasts two 9’2’’ Fazioli concert grand pianos. Adjacent to Biedenharn Hall is the ULM Band Building, which contains an 8,000 square foot main rehearsal hall, an extensive band library, practice rooms, and percussion studio and rehearsal space.
