West Side Story opens Thursday with panel discussion at ULM

In conjunction with the opening of West Side Story—the 2015 spring musical at the University of Louisiana at Monroe—an expert panel discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m., March 26, in Brown Auditorium, ahead of the opening night performance.

The panel discussion is free for those with a ticket to Thursday night’s performance of West Side Story. The show will follow the panel discussion at 7:30 p.m.

The panel will discuss the relevancy and significance of West Side Story’s plotline and cultural impact to today’s audience.

Panelists include ULM faculty members: Dr. Joshua Stockley, Dr. Mel Mobley, Dr. Neil White, Dr. Bob Eisenstadt, and Dr. Jana Giles.

Jay Curtis, general manager at KEDM Public Radio, will serve as the discussion moderator.
