The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Zeta Pi chapter of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity officially received their fraternity charter from the Delta Sigma Phi National Headquarters during the organization’s annual Carnation Weekend.

A charter signifies a group’s inclusion as part of a national or international organization.

During the festivities, ULM Delta Sigma Phi members earned national awards for their contributions and service to their chapter and to their university.

The event was highlighted by speeches from ULM President Dr. Nick J. Bruno, and by John Knowles, grand council member for Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.

The Order of the Sphinx Award was presented to chapter President Seth Dillard, a senior accounting major from Start, and David Evans, a pharmacy major from Pineville.

Chapters, alumni corporation boards, and advisers determine those members most deserving of this high undergraduate award through nomination and vote.

This award, given to the top 85 members nationwide, distinguishes the members who have gone above and beyond to help and provide for their chapter.
