Earning a college degree online is more than taking a class or two. It is a commitment requiring the discipline to study and the mindset to succeed.

As people are turning to online learning for convenience, affordability, flexibility and degrees in high-demand fields, the University of Louisiana Monroe is receiving increased national recognition for programs offered through ULM Online.

ULM Vice President of Academic Affairs Alberto Ruiz, Ed.D., said the increase in national rankings by ULM Online confirms the program is meeting the needs of students.

“ULM Online has experienced tremendous growth in enrollment this year. The degree programs are for careers which are in demand and taught by outstanding university faculty,” said Ruiz. “These new rankings show ULM Online is gaining national recognition for delivering what students need for academic success. I predict ULM Online will continue its upward trajectory as new degrees are added.”

ULM Online aims to be progressive and creative in course offerings and student services. The office is actively working with faculty from around the university on initiatives like the Open Educational Resource and Affordable Educational Resource movement to lower the cost of textbooks for students.

ULM Online is also a proud participant in Compete LA, a program designed by the University of Louisiana System and powered by the nine universities within the system. “Compete LA is a program designed to help you complete your degree. The program includes a variety of online degree programs and other convenient class structures designed for Louisianians with some college credit” the program purpose as described on the website. ULM Online has 12 undergraduate degree programs participating in this initiative.
