Recent Master of Music Education graduate Daisy Case, and current Master of Music Education candidate Katie Conrad, have both been selected to present their research at the 2023 Louisiana Music Educators Association Annual Conference on November 17-20, 2023.

Graduate Students from across the state were nominated to present at the 2023 LMEA Graduate Student Research Showcase, and both Case’s and Conrad’s topics were selected for presentation.

"It is an honor to be selected for the LMEA Graduate Student Research Showcase, and we are incredibly proud of Daisy and Katie,” said Dr. Kenna Veronee, Associate Professor of Music Education at ULM. “They are not only model MME students, but also incredible music teachers and role models for their own students.”

Case will present her MME Capstone "An Analysis of MBTI-type Personalities and Instrument Section of Novice Musicians" and Conrad will present her in-progress MME Capstone "Perceptions of Obstacles Faced by Female Band Directors."

“I am so excited to share my research on the obstacles faced by female band directors,” said LMEA presenter, Katie Conrad. “It’s such an important topic to me and getting to share it with fellow music educators is such an honor.”

The mission of the Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) is to provide leadership, professional development, and support for its membership to ensure quality music education, so being selected to present their graduate research is considered to be a top honor.
