MONROE, La. – The University of Louisiana Monroe’s annual Veterans Day Appreciation Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, in Scott Plaza, adjacent to the ULM Library.   

Students, faculty, and staff who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces or on active duty will be recognized at the ceremony. Veterans and active duty are asked to register/RSVP by the end of the day on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at ulm.edu/omc/veteransday; click Veteran RSVP to register. Veterans in the community are invited to register and attend.  

The guest speaker will be Louisiana’s Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Charlton J. Meginley, Colonel (ret) United States Air Force. Secretary Meginley is responsible for overseeing the department’s $90 million budget and 850 employees statewide. Appointed by Governor Jeff Landry, Secretary Meginley manages the operations of five state Veterans homes, five state Veterans cemeteries, 74 Veterans service offices, and 32 college and university campus student Veteran centers. Secretary Meginley is a 1999 graduate of ULM.   

The event is free and open to the public.
