MONROE, La. – The University of Louisiana Monroe will hold a donation drive on January 14-16, 2026, for its annual MLK Service Project. The theme of the project is “Serving with Dignity: Meeting Needs, Lifting Lives.” ULM students, faculty, and staff, as well as community members, are encouraged to donate non-perishable foods, hygiene products, and household supplies to support The Renewal Center of Northeast Louisiana, a local nonprofit, as well as the on-campus ULM Food Pantry.
The 2026 theme of “Serving with Dignity: Meeting Needs, Lifting Lives,” reflects ULM’s mission to foster civic responsibility and uplift the communities that ULM serves. The initiative mobilizes students, faculty, staff, and community members to work collaboratively in addressing critical needs that impact quality of life and human dignity across Northeast Louisiana.
Through strategic collaboration with The Renewal Center of Northeast Louisiana and the ULM Food Pantry, this service project directly responds to issues of resource and food insecurity affecting both our campus and surrounding community. The Renewal Center of Northeast Louisiana provides essential resources, compassion, and supportive pathways for individuals and families facing hardship, while the ULM Food Pantry plays a vital role in ensuring that Warhawk students and families have access to basic necessities.
Donations for the drive will be accepted Wednesday, January 14, through Friday, January 16 at any of these three locations: The Office of Global and Multicultural Affairs, Sandel Hall 200; The Office of Student Development, Student Center 2nd Floor; or The ULM Activity Center.
