Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is one of the ULM's compliance committees established in accordance with federal requirements, which mandate that only this entity can make determinations on research projects involving vertebrate animal subjects.

Accordingly, all investigators wishing to use animals in research must pass related training and obtain IACUC approvals. This includes investigators in biomedical and behavioral research areas as well as those proposing wildlife observational studies.
