Prior to his experiences at ULM, Dr. Thilla earned his B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Washington in Seattle, and a Masters in Secondary Science Education and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Dr. Sivakumaran presently serves as Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Instruction, Coordinator of Instructional Technology, and Chair of Secondary Education for the College of Education and Human Development. Since joining the faculty at ULM, Dr. Sivakumaran has established the Digital Media Studio where students and faculty can receive technology assistance for multi-media projects. Through the studio he developed and hosted Internet Safety Day and the Educational Tools for Success Conference. Dr. Sivakumaran’s research interests are in the field of assistive technology, electronic portfolio and assessment, and improving teacher quality. He co-authored and received both the E-Portfolios: Teaching with Emerging Technology and ReadIT grants. He actively participates as a presenter in staff development workshops and other special university programs. About the Endowment: The Entergy Professorship in Instructional Technology in Teacher Education endowment was established to encourage and reward excellence in teaching, learning and research at ULM. |
