The mission of the counseling program is to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds and cultures to acquire knowledge, attitudes, and skills essential in the practice of counseling; to prepare students to become highly skilled to provide supportive, educational, and counseling services to individuals from diverse backgrounds in a wide variety of settings, including agencies and K-12 schools; to contribute to the knowledge in human services and counseling through scholarly contributions of faculty members and students; and to provide service to the human services and counseling professions, the community, ULM, and humanity.

All applicants for the M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling program are expected to meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School listed above and the requirements of the School Counseling Program. These program requirements consist of an application packet, supporting information and letters of reference. The specific minimum GPAs and GRE scores are listed in the Graduate Catalog.
