Photocopying/Printing

We have photocopiers on the first floor of the Library in Southwest corner. The photocopiers can only make black-and-white copies, and only one-sided.
The cost is 10¢ per page, and copy machines accept coins and bills ($1-$20). All change is returned in coins. The library counters cannot provide change, but you may obtain change at the La Capitol Credit Union (down from Starbucks) or the stores nearby. If you need assistance with copying, please ask at the Circulation Desk.

Printing is only available in the Computer Lab on the first floor. The lab operates two black-and-white Laser Printers. The GoPrint application used to manage your printing only allows ULM Students to print. The printing limit is 150 sheets per week, and cannot be reset unitl the next week. If you need help printing in the lab, please ask the desk worker for assistance.

Printing is not available on the first floor kiosk computers outside the computer lab or the kiosks near the elevators on other floors. We recommend that students bring a USB memory stick if they are planning to work on Library computers – you may then work on a paper on the first floor, then take it to a computer that has a printer later.

Print Less

The 150 limit for students, once reached, means that student cannot print more until the next week. Here are some ways to avoid reaching the limit:

When You Write/Create for Print

Use smaller fonts to get as much text on a page as possible
Reduce the margins to use up every bit of paper
Use both sides of the paper
Use columns to fill as much of the page as possible without making it hard to read
In Excel, be careful what cells you have selected
When preparing PowerPoint files meant to be printed, choose backgrounds that won’t use as much ink
If you are writing something short, duplicate it on two parts of the paper or more and cut it in half

Printing Articles / Pages

You can also change the colors in PPT files given to you
Print multiple pages on a sheet. Word and Adobe PDF do this
Don’t print articles you find online; Save them to your computer or a flash drive
Use print preview; only print what you need
If you must print a web page, try copying and pasting the text into something else
