About Biology...The hallmark of biological science is interdisciplinary scholarship, centered on the discovery and understanding of all living things. The ULM Department of Biology is a vibrant, engaging, intellectual environment where the best and brightest study and research with outstanding faculty. We are devoted to our science and are very pleased to have the opportunity to share our discoveries with others in the classroom and laboratory.
What careers have our graduates pursued?Federal and State Biological Laboratories, Private Labs and Research, Health and Safety Officers, Educators

Where are our faculty's interests?Over the past 3 years, the department secured over 2.4 million dollars in external funding for research. Faculty members serve the profession as reviewers, editors and members of local, regional, national and international committees.
