The Music Program, part of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. ULM offers the Bachelor of Music degree with concentrations in performance, theory and composition, piano pedagogy, and music education. Bachelor of Music degrees in music education lead to teaching certification in instrumental or vocal music.
The Music Program is housed in the recently-renovated and state-of-the-art Biedenharn Hall. This building houses ample classroom, studio, and practice facilities in addition to the new 284-seat Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, which boasts two 9’2’’ Fazioli concert grand pianos. Adjacent to Biedenharn Hall is the ULM Band Building, which contains an 8,000 square foot main rehearsal hall, an extensive band library, practice rooms, and percussion studio and rehearsal space.
