International student utilizes time-lapse photography at Black Bayou Lake
June 18, 2013 - Since the beginning of May, María Fernanda Blanco Pérez has taken more than 2,500 photographs of turtles and other animals at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
Blanco studies the nesting habits of soft-shelled turtles in Black Bayou Lake, and her photographs tell the story.

June 18, 2013 - Beverly Jarrell has taught at the University of Louisiana at Monroe for the past 40 years. Her favorite spot on campus is Caldwell Hall, the building where she teaches and advises students of the dental hygiene program.

ULM biology professor awarded grant to study feral hogs in south Louisiana
June 13, 2013 - The Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) recently awarded $11,000 to Dr. Kim Marie Tolson, ULM Professor of Biology and Graduate Coordinator, to assess feral hog damage in Louisiana marshes.
