Harihara M. Mehendale, Ph.D., ULM Professor and Kitty DeGree Endowed Chair in Toxicology. Jaya Chilakapati, Senior Graduate student at ULM working towards her Ph.D., studies the beneficial effects of caloric restriction. She is currently working on how some of the changes may be detected in how the animals handle drugs and also the changes in the proteins, which mediate many of these changes. In November, she received the Arthur Furst Best Paper Award from the American College of Toxicology during their 25th Annual Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Dr. Mehendale and Chilakapati work in Toxicology Lab at ULM.
