2005 Summer Awardees

Danielle Lahr – Prenatal effects on the behavior and reproductive success of communally breeding female house mice (Mus musculus). Project with Dr. Loren Hayes.

As part of her long-term training, Danielle has been working on a project to investigate developmental factors that may affect the behavior and reproductive success of house mice (Mus musculus) during adulthood. Specifically, she has helped design experiments to determine (1) if male mice show preferences for females originating from male biased and female biased litters, (2) if the fitness of communal sisters varies depending on the sex ratio of the litter in which they were reared, and (3) if the intrauterine position during prenatal development affects the fitness of adults breeding in communal groups.
