Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction

Program Requirements

Regular Admission Qualifications:
Minimum formula score of 707.5 (GPA x GRE)

  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Minimum combined score of 283 (verbal + quantitative) on the GRE. 

*The GRE is waived for applicants with a GPA over 2.75

Conditional Admission Qualifications:
Minimum formula score of 622.60 (GPA x GRE)

  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.2 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Minimum combined score of 283 (verbal + quantitative) on the GRE.


Additional Requirements: 
Have at least three years teaching experience and hold a valid teaching certificate.

A updated resume which shows 3 years of teaching experience and includes 3 professional references should be submitted to the ULM Graduate School at gradadmissions@ulm.edu


The Educational Diagnostics Concentration also requires:

  • a minimum of one academic year of teaching experience as a Special Education teacher
  • Mild/Moderate certification or 2 areas of special education certification (intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, behavior disorder, or emotional disturbed)
  • Graduate level Diagnostic Reading (3 credit hours)
  • Graduate level Foundations of Reading (3 credit hours)
  • Graduate level Behavior Intervention (3 credit hours)
