ULM lifts mask mandate

Published Feb. 21, 2022

Based on recent guidance from the University of Louisiana System, the University of Louisiana Monroe has lifted the mask mandate for the ULM campus, effective immediately.

The university will continue to monitor COVID-19 rates and may, if necessary, reinstate the mask mandate on campus.

Faculty have the option to require masks to be worn in their classrooms. Students will be notified if masks are required in certain classrooms.

The mask policy and COVID-19 protocols remain for students or employees who have been exposed or tested positive for COVID-19. This includes the requirement that masks must be worn for five days following a COVID-related quarantine. Protocols for students are available at https://www.ulm.edu/coronavirus/covid19protocol.pdf, and for employees at https://www.ulm.edu/safety/employee_covid_protocols.html.

Students, faculty, staff, and visitors are encouraged to protect themselves and others by wearing masks regardless of vaccination status.

Free vaccinations are available from the Louisiana National Guard from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays on the second floor of the SUB. Free testing from the National Guard is available daily from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Fridays on the second floor of the SUB.
