To Watch Live TV Online

With OnStream, you can watch a lineup of live streaming TV accessible throughout your campus, even outside your own residence hall (on approved networks). OnStream lets you stream the live TV you love wherever you want on your own devices – no TV required.

  • Watch through the web browser (Chrome browser is recommended) on your laptop, tablet or phone. No app required.
  • No need to log in to watch Live TV – just connect to an approved WiFi network*.
    • Approved WiFi networks are selected by your school. The Live TV connection will drop when you move between an approved and an unapproved network, or onto mobile (cellular) data.
  • Go to www.watchdishtv.com to open your browser to the OnStream page.
  • Also available on FireTV and Roku devices – search for the OnStream app. If the app is not found, your device may not be supported. Be sure to use the latest OS versions for the device.

OnStream Features

  • On an approved WiFi network, open your favorite browser and go to watchdishtv.com (Dish recommends the Google Chrome browser, but others should also work.)
  • Go to the TV Guide to see what’s on now and look ahead at programming for the rest of the day.
    • If desired, filter for Sports, Movies, News, or Kids programs to make scrolling through options easier.
  • Select a show to see details and/or watch it.
    • While watching, you can go full screen, activate Closed Captions, adjust volume, and open the mini-TV Guide at the bottom to see other watching options.

  • If DVR is enabled at your school, you can create an account and sign in to record shows and watch them later. Note that you don’t need to log in to watch Live TV.

  • Signing in will also allow you to set Favorite channels in the TV Guide, making it easier to navigate.

To Watch in Room

Whenever you hook up a new or existing TV, you will need to run a scan to receive all your channels. To do this, start by hitting the Menu or Setup button on your TV remote control. Scroll over until you find an option that says channel scan or auto program. If given the option, make sure you select Cable rather than Air or Antenna for your search. All TV’s are different and may have different names for these features.
