The ULM College of Arts and Sciences Curriculum Committee (ASCC) is a decision-making body whose mission is to work with departments to maintain and enhance the academic foundation of the College. The Committee reviews all proposals for curricular changes submitted by CAS departments, and evaluates them based on a wide range of departmental, university, and/or state criteria. Consideration of proposals includes but is not limited to scrutiny of academic content, justification for changes, potential impact of changes on students, proper notification of affected university programs, possible duplication of academic content, adequate staffing for new courses, as well as clerical accuracy of catalog revisions. Given such a variety of factors to consider, department representatives are asked to present their proposals to the Committee and to be on hand to answer questions or provide further explanation.
