University Residence Timeline
1940 - The original University Residence is constructed, serving as the president’s home until 1995.

1995 - The University Residence is vacated and moved to the corner of DeSiard Street and Stadium Drive (now Warhawk Way) to help provide a site for construction of the new university library. The University Residence is renamed University House and now serves as a guest house for ULM vistors.
2005 -The ULM Foundation leadership initiates discussion of the need to construct an on-campus residence for the university president.
December 2005 - ULM Foundation leadership meet with University of Louisiana System President Dr. Sally Clausen to discuss potential plans for construction of a new University Residence. A Steering Committee is established to assist the ULM Foundation and the University in determining availability of space for a suitable location and physical design of the residence, while comparing those specifications with that of other universities similar to ULM.
August 2006 - Letters from ULM President Dr. James E. Cofer, Sr., and Mrs. Betty Cummins, ULM Foundation president are sent to the UL System and its Board of Supervisors, requesting approval to construct an on-campus residence.
August 2006 - The ULM Foundation Board of Trustees approves a fund-raising campaign effort for the project, identifies campaign leadership, and pledge to take an active role in raising and providing the needed funds to construct the new University Residence at no cost to the university’s operating fund
Sepember 2006 through March 2007 - Major gift solicitations by campaign leadership and trustees begins.
March 2007 - Finalization of the building contract and public announcement of the University Residence project.
June 2008 - University Residence project completed.
