A. Admissions
Online learning students are held to the same admissions standards as traditional students and
must follow the same process for enrollment at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Students
may apply for admission, register for classes, and pay tuition fees without coming to campus. To

B. Registration
Students who wish to register for online courses must consult with an advisor. For assistance in

C. Financial Aid
Access to all financial aid opportunities, scholarships, aid information and qualifications is

D. Student Records
Students must request their official transcripts in writing, either by fax or by mail. The fax

E. Student Disability Services
The Counseling Center is the official contact for students with disabilities. This office serves
as an advocate for students with disabilities and assists them in achieving equal access to all
college programs and services and is available by accessing the following website

Any student who wishes to make a formal complaint to the University regarding a program, a service

G. Drop / Add Courses and Withdrawal Process

H. Resignations
Students who need to resign from the University should consult the current schedule of classes for

I. Transfer Credits
A prospective or already-enrolled transfer student should contact his/her department head to
determine which courses may transfer to ULM. Also, information regarding general education
courses taught at other institutions in Louisiana which may transfer to ULM may be found at

J. Veterans Affairs
The ULM Office of Veterans Affairs assists all veterans and dependents in establishing eligibility
to receive veterans' educational benefits. Requirements are that admission to the University is
imminent, a DD-214 (military separation document) is submitted, and an application for veteran's
benefits is completed along with a statement of the tentative number of hours in which a veteran
plans to enroll. Students may obtain information regarding benefits at (318) 342-5223 or 5224.
K. International Students
The ULM International Student Office welcomes international students. The social and cultural
dimensions this group brings to the institution are immeasurable. International students who
have questions regarding F-1 and J-1 visas, arrival information, or other questions may call

L. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
ULM adheres to all requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regarding

M. Enrollment Verifications
Students often need to verify their enrollment status (either full- or part-time) for either

N. Library/Learning Resources
The University ensures that students participating in Electronic Learning Programs have access
to adequate and appropriate learning resources. Please visit the library's website at

O. Evaluations
Students in online courses will have the opportunity to evaluate the course, instructor, and service
at the end of the course. This evaluation is available electronically and anonymity is preserved.
P. Student Orientation for BlackBoard
A tutorial for Blackboard is available to assist students to learn how to use the program. It is
imperative that students complete the tutorial as Blackboard is the primary tool used in most
