Goals & Objectives:

Course Date: Indicate clearly if the course dates do not follow all official university calendar dates and deadlines.

Course Content: Give an outline of the content that will be included in the course.

Required Text and Other Required Materials: Students will also need to know how the instructor expects them to obtain the text and other materials.

Course Calendar: Students should know dates of all points of assessment in the course. The syllabus should include exam/quiz dates and dates that other work will be assigned and due. Deadlines for homework/papers etc. should be clearly specified. Also indicate any scheduled face-to-face meetings for exams, field trips, and other needs. • What is the weight of each activity in the final grade?
  • Will assessment be ongoing and cumulative (paper written in sections, phased project, portfolio, journal) or point-estimates (tests, exams)
  • What are your performance criteria for each activity?
  • How will final grades be computed?
  • How/when will students receive their grades?
  • What are your polices for missed tests, late assignments, etc.?
  • Will students be allowed to complete required coursework prior to assigned due dates?
