Deadlines

To ensure that you meet the funding organization's deadline for receiving your proposal, you should send your proposal to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research at least two weeks prior to that deadline if you are requesting matching funds and at least one week prior if you are not. If we receive your proposal later than that, we cannot guarantee that you will meet your submission deadline. There are a number of people who must approve your proposal before it can be submitted. You must give them sufficient time to do their job properly.

Indirect Cost Rate

Unless otherwise indicated by program guidelines, the indirect cost rate for ULM is 40% of Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC). MTDC includes all direct costs except equipment and participant support. Contact Dr. Virginia Eaton  or Ms. Natalie Campbell if you have questions about calculating indirect costs.

Fringe Benefit Rate

Unless otherwise indicated by program guidelines, you should use 30% as the fringe benefit rate. Contact Dr. Virginia Eaton  or Ms. Natalie Campbell if you have questions about fringe benefits.
