Dr. Iftekhar Amin is the holder of Endowed Professorship in Gerontology, and is the Director of the Gerontology Graduate Program at ULM.  He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gerontology, Sociology, and Political Science. He obtained his PhD from University of North Texas.
His research interests include family patterns, aging, population trends, and sustainable development. His work has recently appeared in the Journal of Family History, and Men and Masculinities. He is the Associate Editor of Sustainable Communities Review. Dr. Amin presented at numerous conferences at national and international level.
Dr. Amin is actively involved in collaborative research and outreach programs with universities, non-profits and government organizations from Mexico, China, and Bangladesh. He has a keen interest using latest technologies in research and teaching.
