Syeda S. Jesmin, Ph.D., MPH. is a Medical Sociologist with a particular focus on health services research. Her research interests also include gender and work, globalization, aging and population trends. Dr. Jesmin’s latest research on racial/ethnic disparities in health was a prospective secondary data analysis of CDC, US Census, and GSS. Currently Dr. Jesmin is working on a study on parenting and fathers’ involvement in childcare in Bangladesh. She teaches medical sociology, social demography and upper level sociological theory courses. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, and presented at many international, national and regional meetings.
