The Mascot Committee is comprised of representatives from each of the university’s constituencies, including students and student athletes, alumni, faculty and staff. Also represented are the ULM Foundation, "L" Club, Indian Athletic Foundation, Alumni Association, and coaches.

It is the university's intention to provide the Mascot Committee all of the information regarding ULM's mascot. In addition, the university is maintaining contact with Arkansas State University and sharing information on a regular basis on the mascot issue, and the Mascot Committee will review material and strategies of our Sun Belt Conference colleagues.

Several subcommittees have been formed at various times throughout the process to handle specific tasks.

Semi-Finalist Subcommittees - On March 1, 2006, the Mascot Committee was broken down into four (4) subcommittees. Each subcommittee was given the task by Chairman Luffey of independently reviewing the ULM Mascot Suggestions Report and returning on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 with a list of no more than ten (10) semi-finalists.


Logo Advisory Committee - The Logo Advisory Committee was appointed by President Cofer to evaluate all new logos, wordmarks, imagery and related graphical representations of the Warhawk mascot. This committee will work closely with Eric Rickabaugh of Rickabaugh Graphics throughout the process. The committee will consist of six members of the Mascot Committee and four on-campus consultants.


Mascot Implementation Committee - The Mascot Implementation Committee will evaluate and recommend a plan to implement the Warhawk mascot across the ULM campus and to students, faculty/staff and alumni. This committee will also develop a plan to retire the Indian mascot with respect and dignity.
