WELCOME to the online home of the Division of Music at the University of Louisiana at Monroe!

The Division of Music, part of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. ULM offers the Bachelor of Music degree with concentrations in performance, theory and composition, history, music theatre, and piano pedagogy; the Bachelor of Music Education degree leading to teaching certification in instrumental music, vocal music, or both; and the Master of Music degree with concentrations in performance, conducting, theory and composition, and music education.

The Division of Music is housed in the recently-renovated and state-of-the-art Biedenharn Hall. This building houses ample classroom, studio, and practice facilities in addition to the new 284-seat Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, which boasts two new 9’2’’ Fazioli concert grand pianos. Adjacent to Biedenharn Hall is the ULM Band Building, which contains an 8,000 square foot main rehearsal hall, an extensive band library, practice rooms, and percussion studio and rehearsal space.
