Before being accepted as a music or music education major, a student must successfully complete an entrance audition and a theory placement examination. The applicant will audition for the voice faculty and a representative of other areas of study as appropriate.

Audition Dates

• Vocal Performance and Vocal Music Education:  two (2) selections, one of which must be a classical song in English or a foreign language.  The second piece may be a musical theatre selection or another contrasting classical piece in any language.  Pieces must be performed from memory, with piano accompaniment.  An accompanist will be provided.

• Music Minor or Non-Major Talent Grant:  one (1) selection from the classical style or from standard musical theatre repertoire.  This piece must be performed from memory, with piano accompaniment.  An accompanist will be provided.
