Jazz Ensembles The ULM Jazz Ensemble I is the premiere instrumental jazz performing group within the Division of Music. Membership is determined by audition at the beginning of each semester. Jazz Ensemble I performs the most challenging literature for jazz band. Comprised of the most proficient wind and percussion players on campus, Jazz Ensemble I performs several concerts on campus throughout the year and travels throughout Louisiana and surrounding states as musical ambassadors for the university. Jazz Ensemble I students qualify for additional talent grant money.
The ULM Jazz Ensemble II performs at least two concerts on campus each year. Comprised of highly proficient wind and percussion players, Jazz Ensemble II is primarily designed for students who have an interest in jazz, but have not had the opportunity to study jazz style and improvisation prior to their time at ULM. Jazz Ensemble II students qualify for additional talent grant money. |
