The Louisiana Trio
We Three Kings
Corey & Lisa…in Concert
The public performance of music has dominated Salon's in Parisian Society, lieder abends throughout Germany and is certainly a part of the American music scene. Foundations established throughout America help keep the art of recitals alive through funding concert series and advocacy efforts. Fortunately, Louisiana has all the elements necessary to successfully produce and present local and guest artists in concert. These ventures have become known for the versatile programming, multi-talented performers, established and well-known presenters and audiences hungry for a positive, artistic experience. To this end, the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council has developed and is promoting its three ensembles in residence. Each ensemble features the collaborative efforts of classically trained musicians sharing their artistic abilities with diverse audiences.
The Louisiana Trio
Flute, piano or organ, and voice are not your common trio but that’s the special combination of talented musicians that Sandra Lunte, flute, Richard Seiler, piano/organ and Corey Trahan, vocalist form as The Louisiana Trio. The Louisiana Trio project was developed by the Arts Council to showcase the talents of three Louisiana artists, each of whom has been adjudicated into the Louisiana Division of the Arts’ Touring Directory and the Louisiana Artist Roster. This project was awarded the 2002 Challenge America Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and a 2003 Louisiana Division of the Arts Project Assistance Grant. Since 2002, the chamber ensemble has performed concerts of American, French and Holiday music around Louisiana, appeared as guest artists with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra and premiered “Louisiana Blue,” especially commissioned for The Louisiana Trio.
