The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing is offered online for students seeking careers in advertising, brand management, industrial marketing, consumer relations, market research, professional selling, purchasing, and retailing.
Admission Requirements
1. Meet general ULM admission requirements
2. Be eligible to take or have completed freshmen English and Math
3. Have three (3) years post-high school employment as supported by a resume and employment verification. If you do not meet the 3-year work experience requirement, but feel you still qualify, you may submit an appeal.
4. Have prior credit for 12 cumulative hours from an accredited university, exclusive of developmental courses*
5. Demonstrate sufficient academic potential for success in an online learning environment, evidenced but not limited by:a. E-mail attachment/essay that includes a Microsoft Word attachment of a 150-300 word essay explaining the student’s inability to complete the degree in an on-campus environment and capability of successfully completing online courses
b. Internet access
c. Computer audio and video capability and ability to install and use software6. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Marketing Online Appeals Committee
Degree Requirements
During the first two years of the degree program, the pre-business requirements are completed. Coursework includes arts, English, speech, mathematics, geography, science, government, humanities and economics as well as financial and managerial accounting, computer information systems and quantitative methods.
During the final two years of the degree plan, students enroll in business courses such as finance, management, marketing, business communication and business law. During this time the major courses are also completed.
Required major courses include: Students must complete Marketing 3002, 3005, 3008, 3011, 4003, 4006, 4009; Marketing 4010 or 4011; three hours of marketing electives from MRKT 3004, 3007, 4001, 4010 or 4011; and Management 4013 for a major in Marketing.
