Charge:

The charges of the Committee as outlined the ULM College of Pharmacy bylaws are:

  1. Serve in an advisory role to the Office of Experiential Learning,
  2. Evaluation of Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Requirements (e.g., assignments checklists),
  3. Evaluation of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience Exams, and
  4. Serve as a representative body of Faculty to suggest and/or review any changes in the practice experiences.

In addition to the above standing charges, the committee is also charged this year to:

  1. Evaluate the current IPPE and APPE assessment tools and make recommendations for any changes that ensure that the assessment process is tied to the primary curricular outcomes/competencies and will enhance the student assessment process.  As a part of this assessment, please evaluate whether or not a single instrument with variable percentage weights assigned to each category could be used across all IPPEs and/or APPEs.
  2. Categorize APPE exam questions with respect to curricular outcomes/competencies and courses to which the material is taught.  Ensure that APPE exams are focused on assessing student retention of material that can be tied back to curricular competencies.
