Office of Outcomes Research and Evaluation

The Office of Outcomes Research and Evaluation (OORE) is a targeted research and service facility operating under the administrative umbrella of the College of Pharmacy. Established in 2001 with major contractual funding from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, OORE staffs provide assistance for the critical drug-related component of the Louisiana Medicaid Program.

Office of Experiential Education

The mission of the Office of Experiential Education is to conduct an educational program that produces graduates capable of providing pharmacy care in a dynamic and changing health care system and capable of managing drug therpay processes in collaborative practice with the health care team.

Office of Student and Professional Affairs

The College of Pharmacy Office of Student and Professional Affairs (OSPA) personnel provide a wide variety of essential undergraduate pharmacy student-centered services, including:

  • Admission Counseling
  • Registration Advisement
  • Guide for Pre-Pharmacy Advisors
  • Academic Counseling
  • Student Records
  • Supervision and Coordination of Student Organization Activities

Office of Assessment

 The purpose of the Office of Assessment and Outcomes Research is to facilitate accomplishment of the mission of the College of Pharmacy through systematic assessment and continuous improvement of the structure, process, and outcomes of teaching, service, and research.

Drug Information Center

The mission of the Drug Information Center is:

  • To provide drug therapy and other health care information that is current, comprehensive, objective and need specific.
  • To assist healthcare professionals, faculty, and others in decision making positions regarding patients, to apply problem solving and evidence based approaches to drug therapy issues.
  • To provide a learning environment in which pharmacy students and other health care professional students can acquire the tools necessary to search, evaluate, synthesize and apply health care information. Teaching venues include didactic coursework, a drug information clerkship, and other student interactions. Future plans include the development of a Specialty Residency in Drug Information.
  • To publish information for health care professionals and consumers that provides objective updates and reviews relative to drug therapy and other health topics.
  • To pursue research activities in drug information and other health topics.

Office of Development and Alumni Affairs

The Office of Development and Alumni Affairs has been established to afford the College of Pharmacy an opportunity to cultivate and further develop relationships with alumni and graduating students. All alumni events and meetings including the COP Alumni Association and Homecoming activities are coordinated through the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. Twice a year the Office edits and publishes the Le Pharmacien Louisianais, a bi-annual magazine produced for alumni and friends of the college. Also, the Office plans and coordinates development programs such as the Dufilho Society and Vision 2015.

Technology Support

The technology area for the College of Pharmacy is comprised of two divisions: technology support and technology manager. Technology support is provided by Greg Andrews of the Computing Center. The College of Pharmacy technology manager is Marcia Wells. The purpose of these two areas is to provide assistance with technology issues to the faculty and staff of the College of Pharmacy.
