UNIVERSITY TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS GENERAL The University of Louisiana at Monroe traffic and parking regulations include both provisions outlined in this bulletin, traffic and parking booklet, street signs, street and curb markings, etc., as located throughout the campus. Parking is permitted in designated areas and is expressly prohibited on streets, sidewalks, lawns, neutral zones, sidewalk crossings, near fire hydrants, in front of barricades, or in un-zoned areas. During zoning hours, (7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday), students, faculty, and staff must park only in those zones for which their official University parking permit entitles them to use. However, persons with authorized handicap permits may use any or all of the established zones. The operation of a vehicle on the campus of The University of Louisiana at Monroe is a privilege granted by the institution. Serious or excessive violations can result in the loss of this privilege as well as disciplinary action. The University of Louisiana at Monroe assumes no responsibility for the care and protection of any vehicle or its contents at any time, including the time that it is parked in any campus area. Any parked and unattended vehicle may be removed from campus and impounded if such vehicle obstructs traffic, blocks parked cars, is abandoned, or creates a hazard to persons or property. Traffic regulations are applicable to all faculty, staff, students, and visitors who operate a vehicle on campus. These regulations are enforced every day of the year regardless of classes not being in session. |
