THE ULM CHEERLEADERS are four-time National Champions in small Co-ed Division I.

Both Co-ed and All Girl squads cheer at all football games, home basketball games, and pep rallies. They also combine to make the nationals squad which competes at The Universal Cheerleaders Association College National Championships.

Each year the cheerleaders participate in several university and community related events including:

• homecoming activities
  
• the Miss ULM Pageant
  
• Mardi Gras parades
  
• as well as other athletic events and student life events

Any students currently enrolled at ULM or classified as incoming freshmen or transfer students are eligible to tryout. Students in college (including transfer students) must have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average and maintain full-time status in order to audition for the squad. Previous experience in cheerleading is highly recommended.

Being a cheerleader on a collegiate level is a major commitment. In addition to performing at the games and special appearances, the team practices 3 - 4 times a week.
