Q. What should I study?

Not Sure? Talk to an Academic Advisor in the Student Success Center, located in the University Library, (LIB 202) or call (318) 342-3667. You can also check out the Student Success Center Web site.

You can also talk to a representative in an academic department or browse our degree programs.


Q. How do I apply to ULM?
  • Request an application packet from the Office of Recruitment and Admissions at (318) 342-5430 or toll-free 1-800-372-5127. You can also check out the Office of Recruitment and Admissions' Web site for more information.
  • Check all deadline dates for admission, financial aid, and scholarships.
  • Contact the Testing Center at (318) 342-3556 if you need to take tests for admissions or visit the Testing Center Web site for more information. Testing information can also be found at the ACT Web site. Applicants over 25 years of age should contact the Office of Recruitment and Admissions for testing information.
  • Contact any previously attended schools or colleges for copies of your official transcripts, which must be provided to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.


Q. How do I apply for financial aid?




The Office of Commuter and Non-Traditional (CNT) Student Affairs helps students who live off-campus, live at home, or are considered non-traditional connect to campus life, activities, events, and traditions.

Q. Where can I park on campus?
  • All students parking on campus need a ULM parking decal for their vehicle. Contact the University Police Department (UPD) at (318) 342-5320 or visit the UPD web site for more information.
  • View the ULM campus map.



Q. How can I get involved on campus?

  • Contact the Coordinator of Commuter and Non-Traditional (CNT) Student Affairs at (318) 342-5232 for information about activities and organizations for CNT students.
  • Contact the Office of Student Life and Leadership at (318) 342-5287 for information about joining a Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) or browse the RSO Web site.
  • Attend a ULM athletic event for FREE with your valid student ID. Check out the ULM Athletics Web site for complete information on ULM's teams, schedules, and events.



Q. Where can I eat on campus?

  • Schulze Cafeteria is an all-you-can-eat facility open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the week.
  • The Student Union Building (SUB) offers branded concepts such as Subway, Bene Pizza, Grille Works, Java City Coffee, Freshëns, Chick-fil-A, Home Zone, Ymmy.Tmmys. and others.
  • Aramark, ULM's food services provider, offers a commuter meal plan. For more information call (318) 342-1980 or visit Aramark's Web site.
  • Starbuck's is located in University Commons II and is a great place to study during the day or night!



Q. Where can I go between classes or to study?

  • Student lounges are located in the SUB, Nursing Building, and other academic buildings around campus.
  • The library has study rooms, computer labs, lounge spaces, and other resources available for students. Check out the Library Web site for more information about library resources.
  • Computer labs are available to students in various campus locations. Check the University Computing Center (UCC) Web site for lab locations, hours of operation, and available computer software and hardware, along with other technology available for use.
