ULM Program requirements

ULM requirementsPersons interested in entering the Teach Delta Region program need to meet the following criteria: • undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited university • 2.5 actual/adjusted undergraduate grade point average (GPA) • 20 hours of classroom observations in your area of interest • must have successfully completed the Praxis I unless the following terms exist:
• must have successfully completed Praxis II, required scores will vary based upon specific exam • must have a combined verbal plus quantitative Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score of 750 minimum • complete graduate admissions application; a $20 application fee submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies • completed TEACH Delta Region application packet • an interview or letter of recommendation from the employing school district about the program offeredMaster of Arts in Teaching (MAT)-36 hours of graduate coursework for certification in: • Elementary Education (1-5) • Secondary Education (6-12)* Areas include: English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Social Studies, Spanish, French, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Speech • Multiple Level (K-12)* Areas include: Art, Spanish, French, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, and Instrumental & Vocal Music • Special Education (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) *Must have an undergraduate degree in the content area OR 30 hours of coursework in the content area. Courses must be 100 level or above with a grade of C or better.
