Main Season, Louisiana Lyric Opera, & Student Produced Studio Productions

Mainstage Season
TheatreWorks.ULM offers a four-show mainstage season
each academic year, including at least one musical production
presented in cooperation with the Division of Music and
Dance within the School of Visual and Performing Arts.
The theatre season offers a variety of styles, periods, and themes.

 
Louisiana Lyric Opera
Offering three productions each summer,
focusing on somewhat lighter fare.
Students enrolled in Theatre 431, Summer Theatre Production, or accepting paid assistantship production positions in
major responsibilities in all areas of production
from acting to box office.

 
Studio Productions
ULM students and faculty can apply to direct a production in one of the three available theatres. Student directors and designers can earn academic credit while gaining valuable production experience. Design and technical work is performed by student volunteers.

One-Act Theatre Festivals
Students in the beginning and advanced directing classes present workshop productions of extended scenes or one-act plays as part of their class requirements. These are performed for the public and are cast from the available pool of student actors, student designers, and technicians.
