Drum Corps International returns to ULM’s Battle on the Bayou July 21

Battle on the Bayou The Drum Corps International Summer Music Games Tour returns with the second annual Battle on the Bayou at 7 p.m., July 21, in Malone Stadium at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Drum Corps International gives thousands of young people each year an exciting way to spend their summer months. Through the annual Summer Music Games Tour and more than 35 World Championships in 16 North American cities, it has provided entertainment to millions through live performances and nationally-televised events on ESPN2.

Battle on the Bayou expanded this year to feature eight of the world’s most elite corps, including the twelve-time world champion Blue Devils from Concord, Calif.; Bluecoats from Canton, Ohio; Crossmen and Revolution, both from San Antonio, Texas; Mandarins from Sacramento, Calif.; Pioneer from Milwaukee, Wis.; The Academy from Tempe, Ariz.; and Cascades from Seattle.

The performing corps will bring over 1,000 members to the area, while the show is expected to bring a crowd of over 2,500 drum corps fans.
