Members of the Louisiana Association of Professional Biologists named a University of Louisiana at Monroe biology professor the president-elect of their organization.
Graduate Coordinator Kim Marie Tolson, Ph.D., will serve as president-elect for two years before she transitions to the position of president, also a two-year term. As president-elect, her primary responsibility will be organizing and arranging the LAPB Annual Fall Symposium, held each year in August. This year’s symposium will be held in Lafayette on Aug. 13 and 14. Tolson is arranging a special focus session for the symposium titled “Invasive Exotic Species in Louisiana.” The program for the first day of the symposium will consist of graduate students from around the state speaking on recent natural resources research relevant to Louisiana, according to Tolson. LAPB is the state chapter of the international organization The Wildlife Society. |
