SUMMARY ONE:  Write a summary of an essay found in Lexis - Nexus ULM Library database:
  • Be about half a page (single-spaced) of coherent prose (it should read like an independent essay);
  • Use lead-ins followed by brief partial quotes which are integrated into your own sentences;
  • After all quoted material use an in-text citation;
  • Be free of grammar and mechanical errors;
  • Use a full citation for a title [See Item 35 Article form an Online Database of Subscription Service, page 386 of the Everyday Writer for the proper form to use];
  • Use Times New Roman 12 pt font.

Turn in a hardcopy of the summary/paraphrase and a printout of the paraphrased section of the original article with your reading marks and annotations.
